Ben Agajanian, Morten Andersen, Gary Anderson, George Blanda, John Carney, Bobby Marshall, and John Nesser are the only 7 players in NFL history to play a game at 45 or older.
Vinatieri is 44 years old right now. He turns 45 on December 28. Assuming he plays in week 17's game on 12/31 against the Texans, he will become just the 8th player to accomplish this feat.
Since 1976, only 3 players have done this: Andersen, Anderson, and Carney.
Interestingly enough, there are 2 players on this list to play at 45 or older that were not special teams players. Granted, this was in the 1920s, but that's still impressive. John Nesser played 2 games on the offensive line for the Columbus Panhandles in 1921 at the age of 45, while Bobby Marshall played wide receiver (end, as it was called at the time) for the Duluth Kelleys for 3 games in 1925.
